Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Typetion (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and discloses information about you. It applies to your use of our macOS application, Typetion (the “App”), and our website, typetion.com (the “Site”).

1. Data Controller

The data controller responsible for your information is [TBD], conducting business activity under the name Typetion (address: al. Solidarności 68/121, 00-240 Warsaw, Poland, NIP: [TBD], REGON: [TBD]).

For any matters related to the processing of your personal data, please contact us at privacy@typetion.com.

2. Information We Collect

We collect a minimal amount of information necessary to provide and improve our service. Providing your data is voluntary, but necessary to use our service (e.g., to create an account).

Information You Provide to Us

  • Account Information. When you create an account, we collect your email address. If you choose to sign in with Google, we also receive your name and profile picture URL from Google. This is used to identify you and provide access to the App, based on the performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Information We Collect Automatically

  • Website Analytics. To understand traffic to our Site, we use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool that does not use cookies and anonymizes your IP address. It collects aggregate data such as the pages you visit and the country you are in. We process this data based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) to analyze traffic, measure marketing effectiveness, and optimize our website’s conversion performance.
  • Product Analytics. To improve our App, we use PostHog for product analytics. With your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you provide at account registration, we collect data linked to your account, including your user ID, IP address, and device information (like OS type and version). This helps us understand usage patterns and improve the product. All product analytics data is stored in the EU.
  • Error and Performance Monitoring. To help us identify and fix errors and performance issues within the App, we use Sentry. When an error occurs, Sentry may automatically collect diagnostic data, which can include information about your device, OS version, your IP address, and a user identifier. This helps us diagnose problems and improve the App’s stability. We process this data based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in maintaining a reliable service.

Information We DO NOT Collect

  • Your Content. We are committed to your privacy. The content you create in the App is stored locally on your Mac. We do not host or store your content on our servers. When you use features that require AI processing, we act as a secure intermediary, sending your content to third-party AI providers to perform the requested action. We do not retain your content after the processing is complete.
  • Tracking Cookies. Our App and Site do not use cookies for tracking or analytics. The App uses secure, token-based authentication (JWT), and the Site only uses technologies strictly necessary for security and functionality (provided by Cloudflare).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Providing Our Service. We use your Account Information to operate and maintain your account, and to provide you with access to and use of the App.
  • Improving Our Services. We are always working to make our services better. We use analytics data and crash reports to understand how our products are used, to fix bugs, and to guide our development.
  • Communicating With You. We use your email for essential service-related communications. We will not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.
  • Providing Core Functionality. When you submit a query, we send your Content through Aiproxy.com to third-party LLM providers (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) to provide the App’s core functionality.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We use the following third-party service providers (data processors) to deliver and improve our services:

  • Infrastructure: Supabase, Inc. and Cloudflare, Inc. provide our cloud hosting and backend.
  • Analytics: We use PostHog, Inc. for product analytics, Umami for website analytics, and Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) for crash reporting.
  • AI Services: We use Aiproxy.com to securely process your content with third-party LLM providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.

5. International Data Transfers

Our services operate globally, which may require the processing of your data outside of your country of residence.

  • Data Stored in the EU: All Website Analytics data (from Umami) and Product Analytics data (from PostHog) are stored on servers within the European Union and are not transferred outside of it.
  • Data Transferred Outside the EU: To provide our service, we use other providers (like Supabase, Cloudflare, and Sentry) that may process your information in the United States. For these transfers, we rely on legally recognized mechanisms, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), to ensure your data is protected to a standard equivalent to that in Europe.

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures, including encryption, to protect your information. However, no online service is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We keep your personal data, such as your account information, only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you request account deletion by contacting us at privacy@typetion.com, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, unless we are legally required to retain it (for example, for tax and accounting purposes).

Anonymized data, such as aggregated usage statistics, which can no longer be linked to you, may be kept for analytical purposes.

8. Your Data Protection Rights

Depending on your location (e.g., if you are in the EEA), you have the right to access, update, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information. You can also object to processing, request data portability, and withdraw consent.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@typetion.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority.

9. Children’s Privacy

Our service is not intended for individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have, we will take steps to delete it.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page. For significant changes, we will provide a more prominent notice (e.g., via email). We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
